Words from The Elders
Mrs. Christine Howard, one of our sharp, feisty East Lubbock elders, explained how the 1970 Tornado may have helped contribute to the desegregation of Lubbock. In the aftermath of the extreme weather event, people were scrambling to find living accommodations, and this fact seemed to help “mix things up” a bit.
They also sneak in a little ghost story that might help explain the “White Flight” phenomenon we hear so much about.
What You Bumpin’?
In our final free section, we talk about a tight Jazz cat that Rob is really feeling lately, and the saga he went through trying to get tickets to the show.
