Highlights from Matt Stell's Farewell Reception

Today, the Black Lubbock Community Collective hosted a Farewell Reception at the TTU Student Enrichment Center. The event was put together hastily, but very well, considering how sudden was the announcement that Lubbock’s first black news anchor, Matt Stell, would be departing for a position on the East Coast.

Stell admitted that he cried when he learned he would have to leave Lubbock to accept the position in North Carolina.

However, the offer was too attractive to turn down. Mr. Stell did seem truly saddened to have to leave this fair, flat city, though.
