Learn about the efforts of community photographer Eugene Roquemore (pronounced “raa-k-more”). Eugene was a tireless documentarian of the lives of black Lubbockites for almost 35 years.
The photos he made from the 1950s through the 1980s still carry the “spirit of the moment.” You see a side of black life that didn’t focus on poverty or racism. You see a fuller picture of what black life was like for over a quarter of a century.
