FocusLBK SE1 EP19: MLK in his Own Words

We listen and react with guests Leon Williams, Will Green and Shaun Harris

What’s Going On?

The Black Business Expo on February 3rd.

Note: We state that the mixer for the Black Business Expo will take place on Feb 2 at Mama Ann’s Soul Food Kitchen. This is printed on the flyer, but we just learned Mama Ann’s has been closed down for some weeks.

We are not sure if the mixer will still take place, but we still plan to attend the Black Business Expo.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says '2024 Black Business EXPO "Stronger Together" NETWORKING MIXER Feb 2nd 7pm-8:30pm EXPO Feb. 3rd 12pm-4pm Mae Simmons Comm. Center'

And Later that day, the Kwanzaa Celebration will happen at Mae Simmons as well.

Words from The Elders.

Most of Episode 19 is dedicated to the Words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Rob and Kham chop it up with community pillars Leon Williams, Will Green, and Shaun Harris to the show, and we dissect three of Rev. King’s lesser known speeches, and discuss whether or not they still have weight and resonance in 2024.

These speeches portray a side of the slain leader that is not often presented for our consideration, and you may be surprised at some of the things Dr. King actually stood on.

Here are the links to the speeches we discuss:
