Sights and Sounds from the 2026 Kwanza Celebration
This year’s Kwanza Celebration, put together by Mr. Leon Williams of the Roots Historical Arts Council, was a culturally enriching event. Community members from nine-to-ninety nine attended, many decked out in traditional African garb.
It also featured a first for the Lubbock Kwanza Celebration: live African Drummers who expertly set the mood.
Of course our team was on hand to help out where we could, and to capture a representative sample of sights and sounds.
