What’s Going On?
As always, Lubbock, there’s some good stuff going on this week. First there’s the 2nd Annual Eastside Community Event on Saturday December 16th at Mae Simmons.
And you’ve got the Patterson Library Senior Day Out coming up on December 20th at 2pm.
The Lubbock YWCA is seeking a keyboard instructor to teach kids how to play keys. It starts January 18th, and it pays good, plus it’s a real cool opportunity. Email yessica.jasper@ywcalubbock.org for more into.
Also, coming up in February, you’ve got two cool events at Mae Simmons on the same day. The Black Business Expo and the Kwanzaa Celebration will occur on Saturday, February 12th.
Out and About
On Saturday December 9th, we attended the Jazzy Christmas Concert, put on by Mrs. Shirley Green and her team from the Historical Arts Foundation. This event was simply exquisite. There was so much value for the price of your ticket.
Great venue, professional decorations, good people and a dope jazz concert featuring a whole line-up of world renowned musicians, from right here in the LBK. If you missed…well, you really missed it!
Stay tuned. On Wednesday, we’ll release a full Out and About segment with all the details, pics, sights and sounds.
What You Bumpin’?
The song of the week is a new(ish) song by Betty Wright. The album is “Betty Wright the Movie: by Betty and the Roots. This album has some nice little jewels on it. Betty flexes her voice over old and new sounding tracks, and it’s definitely worth a listen.
