The Lubbock NAACP, BLM Grassroots host Town Hall For Tech Student Killed in Officer Involved Shooting, 28 April 2025
On Monday 28 April 2025, the Lubbock Chapter of the NAACP held a town hall meeting for Erskin Jenkins, a Texas Tech student who was shot and killed by a Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputy in November 2024. Mrs. Phyllis Gant, who helped arrange the event, correctly pointed out that hardly anyone had ever heard about this incident in the five months since it occurred. In fact, her Facebook posts alerted our team to the incident.
